After working in the entertainment industry, Carmel decided that she wanted a change. Having always shown an interest in psychology, Carmel decided to pursue this academically and after achieving a Diploma with distinction in counselling, she went on to study an Msc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
When asked why she wanted to focus on counselling and psychotherapy, Carmel replied that she couldnt imagine doing anything else due to her belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to access help and support.

Alongside studying and managing a busy care organisation, Carmel spent time volunteering in charitable organisations offering her valuable skills as a counsellor and psychotherapist, working with a wide range of individuals who are in crisis or want to change.
